Automotive production has faced challenges in attracting and retaining young workers in skilled trades jobs.

This new FOCAL paper reports on a recent series of youth focus groups into this issue. Youth feedback in these focus groups reinforces concerns about the trajectory of youth participation in the skilled trades. The paper also provides a useful overview of federal and Ontario provincial programs which support the apprenticeship process.
